Thursday 8th June (Oxford Tree Club) Nether Winchendon House nr Thame HP18 0DY.
An historic manor house (and popular film location), owned by Robert & Georgia na Spencer Bernard. Set in 600 acres of Parkland with rare trees and shrubs. Park & meet at 2.30 p.m. opposite the main gates, for a private conducted visit, 10 per person. About ml from Thame on A418 (Aylesbury direction), take left turn to Cuddington. Saturday 10th June (Severn Trees Trust) Visit to Shugborough Hall, Staffordshire
to see its collection of over 250 species of Oaks. This is a National Trust property but its car park is separately owned and there is, therefore, a charge even for NT members. Contact John Tuer 01952 727642.

Tuesday 4th July (Oxford Tree Club) University Arboretum, Nuneham Courtenay OX44 9PX
Originally laid out as a pinetum for the Harcourts in 1835, as well as rare trees, fine wildflower meadows were recently created together with native woodland. We will be on a private conducted tour. Tuesday 12th September (Oxford Tree Club) Visit Milton Manor nr Abingdon OX14 4EN
As if set in a 'time warp', here you will be amazed at the elegant 18th century house designed by Inigo Jones for Bryant Barett, lacemaker to George III. Set in large grounds with two lakes, woodland walks and a fine walled garden. Meet 2 p.m. park in paddock just before entrance gates, by Milton church, just off A34 (Milton Park turning). October (Oxford Tree Club) Pusey House Gardens SN7 8QB Date to be confirmed

A grade II house (not open) with very fine gardens and grounds, originally laid out in the 18 Century, further additions by Geoffrey Jellicoe in the 1930s. Lake with Chinese bridge, pleasure grounds with many fine specimen trees, plus a lovely walled garden complex. Meet 2 p.m Entrance on bend of B4508 road (Pusey) just south of main Swindon A420. Monday 11th December (Oxford Tree Club) Heritage Fruit Trees and Christmas gathering.
Andy Howard will talk about his N. Oxfordshire based fruit heritage business, growing over 200 varieties of apples, pears, cherries, plums and other top fruit and soft fruit. Thursday 18th January 2018 (Oxford Tree Club)
CEO Gabriel Hemery will conduct us on a tour of this unique tree/forestry advisory service and new community orchard. Included in their new purpose built 'Wood Centre', are several woodworking artist and craft workshops. Fiona Stafford is a Fellow and Tutor in English Literature at Somerville. She has recently written a book 'The Long Long Life of Trees' and delivered three series for Radio 3s 'The Essay', entitled 'The meaning of Trees'.
